To all of you at the West Burleigh Clinic: Our family wanted to thank all of you for the care you gave Ginger and us during our very difficult time of losing her. We are planning on getting a new dog to love this month so we will see you all soon on a much happier occasion. Thank you all again. Sincerely, The Rumney Family Nancy, Michael and Andrew
Well, they saved my dogs life once, and then 9 months later killed him. Franklin was a 5 year old Shi-poo. The first time we brought him here, he wasn't eating. Turns out he swallowed a peach seed. They performed an operation to remove it, and he recovered well. About 9 months later we brought him back with similar symptoms, we expressed that Franklin may have done the same thing again. We were re-assured that it was something else this time. He was given medicine and sent home. a week later he was getting worse, and we took him back. We again expressed that we think he swallowed something again. They kept him for 5 days, told us he was doing better and sent him home. When we got him we knew he wasn't eating and looked to be in worse shape then when we dropped him off. We took him to another vet that same day who told us in 5 minutes he had an obstruction from swallowing something large. Sadly at this time he was too weak for another operation, and we had to put him to sleep.
We took our 8-week old puppy in for an appointment with Dr. Gill. The dog had been having diarrhea since we got her. Not only did he ignore our questions and concerns, but had to ask his assistant at least three times during the appointment to remind him how old our dog was. We also got heartworms and parasites explained to us like we were 5 years old, and a corn-based IAMS puppy food pushed on us when we asked questions about a good quality food. What vet suggests a corn-based product as "good quality"?! Ridiculous. I guess they are not used to dealing with informed pet owners. Not only was the service poor - but he missed the condition that was causing her diarrhea - coccidia, which is EXTREMELY common and should have been caught. We had to hear the diagnosis a week later from the breeder when other pups from the same litter were sick. We are trying a different vet at this clinic, and will not return if the service is similar to our first visit.
I went there for my 3 cats... They also were very helpful and understanding when I had to put down one of them after a struggle with FIV...
