Harris Pet hospital has been great to us in the past with all of our pets. Our new addition Chevy the Lab has been to visit the Harris Pet Hospital twice now for standard puppy shots and the staff has all been friendly and welcoming. They do a great job of making the experience positive for us and the pup. We will continue going the Harris for all of our future Vet needs. Kevin

I have taken been to Harris for many years, with various dogs. Everything from routine shots to surgeries. I always have received wonderful service. Highly recommend them.

Dr. Doug Keen Saved my dog in a very emergency situation. He took in GREAT evaluation for the best situation for my dog in her situation. Reading the review before mine I thought was absolutely absurd We have to think about the best thing for our animals and make sure they aren't suffering or make them go threw a huge amount of stress and quit being selfish.

Was reccommended to it because of cheaper prices supposedly due to the fact that they were in the county instead of in town (Kenosha). My 3 yr old cat became sick, lethargic, went off his food. So i took him in and the male vet (not sure of name) ran some tests and told me he wasnt sure what was wrong and all he could do was give my cat some antibiotics and we could hope he started eating again but there was really nothing else he could do and that unless i got the cat to eat he would die from not getting the nutrients his body needed. The antibiotics thankfully cleared up the sickness but he still wouldnt eat which the vet said is common- once they stop its hard to get them to start eating again and that i could try force feeding at home, anything to get food in him because once he starts taking in life sustaining nutrients he should begin the road to recovery. I read online there are certain steriods you can give cats to stimulate appetite. I asked this vet about it later and he told me that it was true but it wouldne be worth it in my case because it would be a temporary help....?? Isnt that what i need? to just get him going back on food and he'll do the rest? Anyway after tempting my cat with a million types of food he began a slow recovery on his own. I really didnt appreciate the fact that the vet didnt do everything he could and made me feel like my cat had no hope and even offered putting him down as a solution. I would have let this go as a one time event except that later this year a friend of mine took her cat to this pet hospital, had a vet that ran tests, couldnt find the problem, gave the cat antibiotics, and told my friend the cat probably wouldnt make it and that putting it to sleep was its best option. She did and now a few months later has told me her horribly familiar story about this place. So if you take your pet here and your visit sounds like this, get a second opinion from another vet!

I keep trying to make this ONE star, but it keeps making four stars. Anyway, I took a couple of my ferrets here several times because Harris is close to my home. After dealing with Dr. Doug Keen, I will never go back. He was very rough when handling my ferrets and seemed unconcerned and lax when it came to thier well-being. One ferret of mine had adrenal disease. Dr. Doug Keen told me there was nothing that could be done, and I should just wait for her to die. Yes... he actually said that. Fortunatley, I found a wonderful ferret vet in West Allis called West Allis Animal Hospital. Ask for Dr. Nelson or Dr. Menjez. They are very, very experienced with ferrets are are very gental and genuinly concerned for the animal's health. Dr. Nelson told me he could help her (my ferret) and he gave her the proper surgery to take out her adrenal gland. She lived three years longer to the ripe old age of 8. If I listened to Dr. Doug Keen she would have died much sooner. DO NOT go to him with ferrets. He has little experience with them, and besides that, he was rude to me and didn't seem to care about my babies. I actually have more stories about Dr. Doug Keen, but then I would be writitng a book. Just be assured that this is not the place to go for ferrets. I don't know how he is with cats or dogs; but he was rude to me and didn't seem to care about me or my pets.
