Dr. Pence was well educated and brushed up on his exotic animal knowledge before we arrived. I always bring my Ferret Anatomy and Disease book with me incase the vets are unsure, but he was really on top of his game. He was also very kind and gentle with my ferrets. One of my girls was abused so she is afraid of strangers and she warmed up to him instantly, which shocked us all! Technicians were wonderful as well! 5 stars from me and my 4!
What a horrible nightmare! This is the worst place to take any animal you care about! When my lab/mutt mixed dog quit eating for no reason, we took her there. They wanted to keep her overnight, which we couldn't afford at the time, and Dr. Pence's wife rudely berated my father and me in the waiting area (in front of other clients) and sarcastically asked, "Why'd you even bring her here then?!" She also yelled at us about how much more expensive it would be to take the dog to a different vet's office. The vet that saw her (not Pence, but a woman) tried to help by telling us some things we could try. After just a couple days, the dog's appetite came back and we found out the problem was from her chewing on an outdoor rocking chair, so there was no need for her to stay overnight. This wasn't the first time I was treated so poorly by this veterinarian's office, but it was the last. Please I beg you to look for a different vet for your furry family member. PS--If I could have given ZERO stars, I would have, but I must give at least one.
I took my LAB/BOXER mix to get neutered, I know the parents accident litter by my friend. And the staff took one look at him labeled him dog aggressive { a dog agressive snaring and snapping small dog tried to bite us, and he finally growled back} and a pitt. Do not trust this place. After they neutered him, they called me to tell me he has heartworms. That he wouldn't live, if anything he had three weeks max. This is a guy who plays ball nine hours a day and lives with three small dogs and five cats and one kitten who jumps on him. Ya mean right. Lost my business now an forever. By the way I took him to Dr,Taylor and Boy does not have heartworms.
I have taken all of my pets to Green Valley Animal Hospital. I currently have an English Bulldog, and because they are prone to many health problems, I had numerous questions. The vet and staff addressed all my concerns and treated my puppy gently. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for animal care.
I posed the last review about GVAH. I'd like to just add that since my last posting things have gotten better with the receptionist. :) I'd remove my last post but I cant figure out how to do it? Maybe it was a bad day? Which we are all entitled to.Now when I call she knows my voice, and when i bring in my animals I dont even stand in line to check in...she just sees me and knows who i am so she pulls my chart. She's helped me file insurance claims with my pet insurance. I still think Michelle Postle is the greatest doctor in the world too!
