My family, including 2 beagle fur-babies, moved to Morgantown in May 2012. We were fortunate enough to get our dogs' care established with Dr. Zucker shortly after we arrived. We were so impressed with the caring, compassionate, professional way Dr. Zucker and his staff interacted with our beagle babies. We knew they were going to be in the safest of hands at AMC. In August of 2013, while traveling in TX, we found a stray chihuahua mix (teri-huahua) on a 4-wheel trail. She had clearly been on her own for a while. She jumped into our golf cart and into our hearts. Two days later our precious Maggie had a plane ticket back to West Virginia. During her pre-flight vet examination, we were devastated to learn that Maggie's heart worm test was positive. I couldn't wait to get her back to AMC to see what our options were. The vet in TX had initiated a less aggressive therapy to kill the heart worms. We decided to complete that course of therapy and recheck for heart worms in 6 months. Sadly, the heart worm test came back positive again in early Jan 2014. This is when I REALLY learned what a fantastic vet we had chosen for my animals. He asked to take a few days to research and find the BEST treatment for our Maggie....and he did just that. A few days later, Dr. Zucker called and discussed the plan based on the most current guidelines. I had a million questions and concerns about the treatment and he must have spent 20-30 minutes on the phone answering them all. Maggie had her first treatment of 3 yesterday. She spent the entire day at the AMC being closely monitored after her injection. The staff updated us throughout the day. She had shown subtle changes in her behavior to suggest she was in pain which they addressed immediately. We picked Maggie up in the evening, and a staff member gave us detailed discharge/home care instructions and patiently answered even more questions. Maggie is doing great after her first treatment and we are confident she is on her way to being healthy and Heartworm free! She has a long road ahead of her, but I know one thing for sure....she is being cared for by the best Vet in town! We cannot express how grateful we are to Dr. Zucker and his amazing staff. Thank you, Heather, Chad, Connor, Callie, Cleo and Maggie "the Mags" Huffman
I took my puppy there for her first vet visit and I was very impressed. All of the staff was extremely pleasant and did everything they could to accommodate you. The receptionist was very polite and the nurse that dealt with my puppy was absolutely fantastic. Her name was Jackie and you could tell that she absolutely adored animals and was very genuine. The doctor was also wonderful. He was extremely thorough on his exam and they both asked numerous times if we had any questions on concerns. It was the best experience I have had at a vet in a long time and I am glad I chose them to take my puppy to. I also chose to do the puppy plan which is very nice.
I just moved to Morgantown, and I have a brand new kitten than had an emergency situtation, this vet was the closest, I went in the minute they opened and asked if they would see her, I was willing to wait all day to be seen if necessary. They would not even see her, saying they were an appointment only vet. With over 20 year of having pets and vets around the country, there is no vet I know of (until now) that would not fit an emergency situation in, even if the patient has to wait a few hours to be seen. All reputable vets that care about animals can see an animal. I would not recommend this vet at all to anyone who cares about their pet.
Went to this vet twice. The first time everything went ok. The second time I went the bill was much higher than I was told it would be and they had done lab work that was discussed on the first visit when I was told it was redundant and not necessary. To make a long story short, I decided to switch vets as the story changed several times as to the testing that was done and the results of those tests.
Everyone I have met at this clinic is kind and warm. For my cats, since when I got them at about 8 weeks, I have been taking them to AMC. The prices are reasonable and the care is quite outstanding. They really make pet care as worry-free as possible and I would recommend them to anyone in town.
