She was hostile towards me from the moment we started our appointment. She overtly shames people who have animals that are overweight, even though she herself is obese! She has no understanding of "tight regulation" approach in diabetic cats. She was angry when I didn't want to give my cat a antibiotics that has sugar in it. So she injected my cat with the wrong type antibiotics while I was begging her not to. Also, she took my cat's blood very roughly from her neck and then asked me afterwards if I wanted her to run a blood panel. I was so angry but felt shamed into consenting to a totally unnecessary test. All in all, it was very expensive and disturbing experience.

Dr. Hough is professional, thorough, and truly has your animal at heart. She is frank and honest with you about advice and care for your pet. If you are a down to earth kind of person as well you will get along just fine. If you expect to be pampered, and coddled this is not the doctor for you. I have never had to wait very long as scheduling is efficient. The Dr. does not try to sell you a bunch of services and stuff you don't need. She does NOT overcharge as was stated by the reviewer above. I would recommend her to anyone.

I tried Apple Tree after getting upset with my previous vet for refusing to see my dog if she wasn't on the table - which scares her so much she piddles - and so while I was waiting for Dr Norma for the first time I heard her through the closed door, sharply scolding someone for non-compliance with his dog's medicine regime. I was a little upset until I saw the dude walk out with a grossly obese, hypothyroid dog, and suddenly I knew I was in the right place. Dr Norma is very no-nonsense and she is the *animal's* champion. She's not there to take your money and pat your hand, she's there to take the best care of your dog/cat/whatever she can, and if that involves being blunt with the owner, she will be. She's direct, compassionate, with a sense of humor that delights me. She treated me as though I were intelligent, treated my dog with gentleness and care - and got down on her painful knees to see her OFF THE TABLE. A vet with her ethics and ability is hard to find, and one of my biggest regrets about moving out of the country is that I can't take her with me. If all you want is someone to coddle you and Fluffy, then don't go to Apple Tree. If you want a top-notch vet with reasonable prices that will tell you directly what is going on, what your options are, and do her best to help your pet even if YOU are the problem, then go to Apple Tree. I cannot recommend her more highly.
